National Investment Bank supports TEWU-UEW with 140 Motor Bikes

The National Investment Bank (NIB) has presented 140 motor bikes to members of the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) of the University of Education, Winneba. 74 motor bikes were distributed to members on Winneba campus and 66 given to members in Kumasi and Mampong Campuses. This was made known at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association held on Wednesday 20th December, 2017 at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus.

COLTEK STAFF DELIVERS OVERALL BEST PAPER AT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN MALAYSIA

It was a case of mesmerising delivery when the Head of the Department of Academic Affairs (DAA) at the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK), Mr. Charles Baba Campion took stage to present a paper on “Constraints Militating Against Organisational Communication In A Multi-Campus University” to the 8th International Communication, Education, Language and Social Sciences Conference 2017 (KLiCELS8), recently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Christmas and New Year Break

We announce for the information of all members of staff of the University that the 2017 Christmas and New Year break will begin from 12:00 noon on Friday, 22nd December, 2017 and end on Friday, 5th January, 2018. Work will resume on Monday, 8th January, 2018.

Heads of the following departments/sections- Grounds and Garden, sanitary, Halls, Transport, Security, Maintenance (Electricians), and Clinics should select staff to ensure that normal services are provided during the holidays.

Department of ICT Education to introduce B.Sc ICT and M.Ed IT

The Head of Department (HoD) of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Education, Mr. Kofi Bentum Wilson has hinted that the Department was at the verge to introduce new programmes that were of relevance to the 21st century.

He said as part of their efforts to expand the Department and also meet the expectations of the corporate strategic plan of the University to be a leader in teacher education in Africa and the world, there was the need for the introduction of the new programmes.

Rev. Kwame Nkrumah Hope Donates School Desks to Methodist J.H.S, Jamasi

A Lecturer at the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences Education and Chaplain of the College of Agriculture Education, Mampong-Ashanti Campus, Rev. Hope Kwame Nkrumah has led the congregants of Mt. Sinai Methodist Church to donate 20 Mono Desks to the Methodist Junior High School (JHS) at Jamasi.

Rev. Kwame Nkrumah who is also the Sessional Minister in charge of Mt. Sinai Methodist Church made the donation at a service dedicated to the celebration of teachers of Jamasi Educational Unit in the Ashanti Region.

AMANIAMPONG HALL JCRC DONATES SPORTING JERSEYS TO CAGRIC

The Junior Common Room Committee of the Amaniampong Hall of the University of Education, Winneba, donated five sets of sporting Jerseys to the College of Agriculture Education of the University of Education, Winneba.

The JCRC President, Michael Ankapong presented five sets of jerseys for various sporting disciplines to Prof. J. K. Kagya-Agyemang, Principal of the College.

Centre for Human Rights Conflicts and Peace Studies Marks International Human Rights Day

First year students of the M.phil Human Rights programme of the Centre for Human Rights Conflicts and Peace Studies at the University of Education, Winneba has embarked on an educational visit to Nsawam Prison in the Eastern Region of Ghana on Friday 8th December, 2017, as part of the activities to mark the 2017 International Human Rights Day (which fell on Sunday 10th December, 2017).

Home Economics Education Department calls on Entrepreneurs for Collaboration

A Senior Lecturer at the Department of Home Economics Education, UEW, Ms. Kutum Comfort Madah has called on entrepreneurs to collaborate with the Department of Home Economics Education to promote most of the products the students have created.

She said that the Department had created lots of local drinks and recipes but those products could be found on the shelves of the Department as nobody was promoting them.

UEW CRACKS THE WHIP FOR UNRULLY ACTS AT FIRST SESSION OF THE 22ND CONCREGATION AT COLTEK

For acts deemed to be unbecoming of graduating students of a University of high repute like the University of Education Winneba (UEW), the University’s Governing Council has withheld for three months, certificates of business students from the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) of UEW.
