Programme Description

Aims and Objectives of the programme are

•     To inculcate in its students the requisite knowledge and practical skills for the                    challenging demands of theatre

•     To expose students to global trends in theatre and related fields

•     To enable students take up leadership roles in the theatre and film industries.

•     To train students to use theatre as a medium in promoting development in rural                  communities with indigenous local resources.

B. A. (Art Education)

Programme Description

The basic objectives of the programme are to:

•      equip students with the basic knowledge, analytical skills and methodologies in teaching and managing art related institutions and organisations

•      produce art graduates capable of identifying, designing and manipulating the local            resources and apply them to teaching and learning

•      produce a teacher capable of teaching art in the Junior and Senior High School levels

B. A. (Graphic Design)

Programme Description

Among others, the programme seeks to equip students with skills to understand the creative, perceptual, conceptual and practical structures which inform Graphic Design practice. The programme provides opportunity for students to produce a sustained body of creative graphic design work and to develop appropriate research skills. Students are also equipped to evaluate their own practice within a critical context and to develop skills which will make them employable in the graphic design industry locally and internationally.

 

B.Sc. Integrated Science Education

Programme Description

The programme centres on the physical and applied sciences and it is designed to equip the degree holder with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required in a theoretical and practical teaching of science and the applied sciences in the basic, secondary and post-secondary schools.

Target Group

The programme seeks to attract:

  • SHS Certificate Holders
  • All those who wish be trained in the sciences

 

     

    Diploma in Education

    Programme Description

     
    The programme is designed for non-professional technical/ vocational and applied science (agriculture, engineering, etc) teachers/trainers.

    It is designed to equip the learners with integrated sets of knowledge and skills needed to make them effective teachers and trainers. After completing the programme the learner will be able to work effectively as teachers and trainers in educational and training settings.

    Target Group

    The programme is for:

    •      University graduates

    B. Sc. (Agriculture Education)

    Programme Description

    The Bachelor of Science Agriculture Education Programme is basically a general agriculture-centred programme designed to equip students to teach the core subjects in general agriculture and to undertake any practices or services that involve the salient knowledge, skills and attitudes of general agriculture.

    Target Group

    The programme is intended for:

    •      SSSCE/WAEC Certificate Holders

    •      Agriculture/Forestry Certificate holders

    Department of Home Economics Receive Equipment from Valco Trust Fund

    The Valco Trust Fund in Accra has made a donation of equipment to the Department of Home Economics Education. The gesture is a response to a request made by two Patrons of the Home Economics Students Association in the University of Education, Winneba. The Equipment which comprise a fridge, sewing machines, pressing iron (dry), pressing iron (steam), Gas Cookers (with oven), Blenders, Gas Cylinders (with regulators, hose & clips) was donated at a ceremony held at the forecourt of the Valco Trust Fund Building in Accra on 12th December, 2016.

    The University Chaplaincy Board invites the entire University community and the general public to its Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols to mark the end of year activities.
