SACOST INTRODUCES SCIENCE TEACHERS TO INNOVATIVE WAYS OF TEACHING SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS IN THE BASIC SCHOOLS IN THE EFFUTU MUNICIPALITY

A workshop has been held for science teachers in the Effutu Municipality at the Institute of Educational Research and Innovation Studies (IERIS) on 24th May, 2016. The workshop brought together fifty (50) teachers who teach at the various Junior High Schools in the Effutu Municipality, two staff from the Ghana Education Service and five staff from IERIS.

UNIVERSITY LIBRARY ORGANISE TWO-DAY TRAINING PROGRAMME

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Library Section organised a two-day programme on Customer Service Training for its staff of the Winneba and Ajumako Campuses at the Registrar’s Conference room, North Campus from May 23rd to 24th, 2016.

In all twenty-five participants, two external resource persons for British Council and one IT person took part in the training programme.

CHSS ORGANISES WORKSHOP ON HEARING SCREENING

The Centre for Hearing and Speech Services (CHSS) under the Department of Special Education organised a two-day workshop for special educators and resource persons from May 11th to 12th, 2016 at Winneba. Thirty-nine participants took part in the workshop. The participants were from Effutu, Kasoa, Agona East, Agona West and Ewutu-Senya municipalities, all in the Central Region.

LEVEL 300 ICT STUDENTS DONATE TO ACCRA REHABILITATION CENTRE

The “ICTE363: Technology in Special Education” class of the Department of Information and Communications Technology Education, University of Education, Winneba donated items worth over two thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢2,000.00) to the Accra Rehabilitation Centre, Accra Ghana on Friday May 13, 2016.

The Centre for School and Community Science and Technology Studies (SACOST) of the Institute of Educational Research and Innovative Studies (IERIS) has organised an Award Ceremony to honour 31 student performers of the Department of Theatre Arts who have distinguished themselves in their theatrical productions and dance performances.

NORTH EASTERN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS VISIT UEW AS PART OF THEIR EDUCATIONAL TOUR IN GHANA

Twenty (20) students from North Eastern University USA have visited UEW as part of their educational tour in Ghana. The Director for the Centre for International Programme, Prof. Sekyi Baidoo said the visit of the students from the North Eastern University, USA has been long awaited. He expressed his appreciation to the leader of the team, Dr. Vanessa Johnson and the students for their desire to learn more about the University of Education, Winneba.

HOME ECONOMICS EDUCATION ORGANISES EXHIBITION

The Acting Head of the Department of Home Economics Education, Ms. Kutum Comfort Madah has condemned the attitude of some students who after their 4 year training, sit at home jobless.

She said, what the Department does is equip the students with needed skills during their training and depending on what they specialise in, would be able to start something on their own after graduation.

KUMASI CAMPUS ORGANIZES VERIFIERS WORKSHOP
