The National Centre for Research into Basic Education (NCRIBE) mains at conducting research and engaging national and international audiences in the best practices in the provision of basic education. Since its establishment 2006, the centre has been engaged in an international research project known as the Consortium for Research into Educational Access, Transition and Equity (CREATE) funded by the Department for International Development of British Government (DFID). As a research centre it engages persons with specialized skills from the various departments of the University.
Vision and Mission of NCRIBE
NCRIBE has the vision to become a centre of excellence in research into policy and implementation of issues related to basic education in Ghana. Its mission is to be a training ground for young researchers, a documentation centre and the first point of reference on issues related to basic education. The Centre provides relevant research-based information to the Ministry, Communities, students/pupils and schools to improve access, quality, livelihood and outcomes.
Goal
The Centre aims to undertake analytical assessment of basic education policies, their processes of implementation, analysis of school-based activities and provide suggestions to bring improvement in basic education.
